Italy is home to some of the most amazing art museums in the world, and many of these museums are located in and around the capital, Rome. This is a small church located between Piazza Navona and the staircase leading up to the Basilica di San Miniato. The Medici Chapel is actually two different buildings; the main church of the religious order of friars, and a smaller, century-old church which has been converted into a modern-day museum called the Piazza Navona. Both of these buildings contain incredible works of art by some of the best painters in the world, including frescoes by the famous Italian artist Sandro Botticelli, as well as fine art paintings and sculptures from famous Italian artists such as Michelangelo. If you have never visited the church or museum, it is highly recommended. Even if you have, it will be impossible to imagine either of these two locations without having seen the exquisite work of art within. In addition to the paintings, the piazza itself is worth a visit for its beautiful scenery. Both the deceased and those who are walking along the paths to their tombs are covered in rich, lush greenery that makes it visually enchanting.
Located near the center of Rome, one of the most important museums in Italy is the Uffizi Museum of Florence. Founded in Florence nearly 500 years ago, this grand museum contains some of the best art and antiques in Italy, as well as an assortment of artifacts from all over the Mediterranean area. Because the Uffizi is often open to the public, it is one of the best art museums to visit on any part of your trip to Italy. It houses some of the most famous paintings by famous artists like Michelangelo.
